Smart Mag Tool for Glock Magazines (Baseplate Removal & Unloader)

This tool is made for one job: taking Glock magazines apart safely and putting them back together without springs launching into orbit. It gives you controlled baseplate removal while retaining the spring, so cleaning, maintenance, and baseplate swaps are fast, clean, and predictable instead of a two-hand wrestling match.

What it’s for / why it matters: Dirty mags cause feed problems. Baseplate swaps and routine cleanings shouldn’t risk bent springs, lost parts, or torn-up fingertips. This tool stabilizes the magazine and locks the process down so you can disassemble, clean, and reassemble with confidence.

What’s included:

  • Magazine disassembly tool body
  • Rubber overmolded non-slip base for stability and surface protection
  • Spring retention plate to control and retain spring tension during disassembly
  • Baseplate removal post designed to engage the magazine’s baseplate release port
  • Integrated magazine unloader feature (reverse side) for quick, safe unloading before maintenance

Key features & specs:

  • Safe disassembly: helps prevent springs and internals from launching during baseplate removal
  • Efficient workflow: supports baseplate changes and thorough magazine cleaning without extra tools or “extra hands”
  • Stability: rubberized base resists slipping and reduces the chance of scratching your work surface
  • Broad compatibility: designed to work with a wide range of Glock magazine models (common examples include 17/19/26/43/48 and others)

Fitment

  • Fits most OEM-style Glock magazines that use the standard baseplate release port and standard baseplates.

Does NOT fit

  • Extended baseplates / extended base pads that change the baseplate geometry (not compatible by design).
  • Non-Glock magazines or magazines that do not use the Glock-style baseplate release port.

Tools needed

  • None. This tool is built to do the job without punches, screwdrivers, or improvised violence.

Install notes

  • Unload the magazine before disassembly (use the integrated unloader feature if desired).
  • Keep downward control as you remove the baseplate—this tool helps retain the spring, but you still need to work like an adult.
  • Clean the magazine body, follower, and spring, then reassemble in the same orientation.

Verify to prevent returns: Verify compatibility before you purchase.
