Glock 17/34 Gen 5 – Alpha Pack Complete Flat-Wire Spring Kit With Connector Choice

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS, GUIDE ROD TYPE, AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.

The IronKells Armory Alpha Pack Complete Flat-Wire Spring Kit with Ghost Inc.® Connector Choice is built for Glock 17 and Glock 34 Gen 5 9mm pistols when you want more control over slide speed, recoil feel, trigger feel, reset, and connector behavior.

This version takes the standard Alpha Pack and adds your choice of either the Ghost Angel 3.0 connector or the Ghost Avenger 3.5 connector. The flat-wire recoil springs help tune the cycle when used with a compatible flat-wire guide rod system. The trigger and striker springs help tune feel, reset behavior, and ignition force. The connector changes the character of the trigger break. Small parts, big job.

This is the “I actually want to tune the pistol” pack — not the “I threw random parts in a bag and called it custom” nonsense.

Variants / Connector Choice

  • Ghost Angel 3.0: Lighter, smoother-feeling connector option for a more aggressive trigger-feel tune.
  • Ghost Avenger 3.5: Polished 3.5 lb style connector option with a cleaner feel than stock.

Fitment

  • Fits Glock 17 Gen 5 9mm.
  • Fits Glock 34 Gen 5 9mm.
  • Flat-wire recoil springs are intended for Glock 17/34 Gen 5 full-size recoil spring tuning setups using compatible flat-wire guide rod systems.
  • Recoil springs may fit compatible captured or non-captured / uncaptured guide rods when the guide rod shaft, spring seat, end cap, and retaining cap are designed for this flat-wire spring profile and diameter.
  • Ghost Angel 3.0 connector is listed by Ghost for Glock Gen 1–5 and X models, including Glock 17 and Glock 34.
  • Ghost Avenger 3.5 connector is listed by Ghost as a Gen 1–6 drop-in connector with no modification needed.
  • Gen 5 25% extra power trigger return spring is for Gen 5/6 Glock pistols and Glock 42/43/43X/48-style trigger housing applications.
  • Gen 1–4 6 lb trigger return spring is included for Gen 1–4 Glock trigger return spring setups, not for the Gen 5 trigger housing.
  • Reduced power safety plunger spring is used for smoothing trigger press feel in standard Glock-style safety plunger systems.

Does NOT Fit

  • Does not fit Glock 19, 19X, 45, 26, 43, 43X, 48, or other compact/slimline models for the recoil spring portion.
  • Does not fit Gen 1–4 Glock 17/34 recoil systems unless you are using a compatible Gen 1–4 guide rod/spring setup separately.
  • Does not fit factory Glock dual recoil spring assemblies unless specifically confirmed compatible.
  • Does not fit round-wire-only guide rods or guide rod assemblies.
  • Does not fit any guide rod where the shaft, spring seat, end cap, or retaining cap is not designed for this flat-wire spring profile and diameter.
  • The Gen 1–4 6 lb trigger return spring does not replace the Gen 5 25% extra power trigger return spring.
  • The Gen 5 25% extra power trigger return spring does not replace the older Gen 1–4 coil trigger return spring.
  • Not recommended as a blind “drop it in and forget it” carry/duty setup. Tuned spring and connector systems need proper function testing and live-fire verification with the exact ammo you plan to run.

Tuning Stack / What Each Part Controls

Flat-Wire Recoil Springs — 11 lb, 13 lb, 15 lb Controls slide speed, recoil feel, cycling behavior, compensated setups, and ammo-specific tuning. Requires a compatible flat-wire guide rod system.
Striker Springs — 4 lb, 4.5 lb, 6 lb Affects trigger feel and primer ignition force.
Trigger Return Springs — Gen 5 25% Extra Power + Gen 1–4 6 lb Changes reset authority and gives bench flexibility across Glock generations.
Safety Plunger Spring — Reduced Power Helps smooth the trigger press through the firing pin safety plunger movement.
Ghost Connector — Angel 3.0 or Avenger 3.5 Changes trigger break character, overall pull feel, and connector behavior.

Guide Rod Compatibility

The recoil springs in this kit are flat-wire recoil springs. They are designed for compatible Glock 17/34 Gen 5 guide rod systems that accept this flat-wire spring profile and diameter.

These springs may be used with compatible captured guide rod assemblies or compatible non-captured / uncaptured guide rods, but the guide rod shaft, spring seat, end cap, and retaining cap must match the spring profile. Flat-wire and round-wire recoil springs are not automatically interchangeable.

Forge Files Starting Point

For Glock 17/34 Gen 5 builds, start with the 13 lb recoil spring for common 115–124 grain range ammo. Move to 15 lb when the gun needs more control with hotter ammo, and move to 11 lb only when the setup needs lighter cycling and has been tested properly. Tune recoil first. If slide speed is wrong, the rest of the pistol starts lying like a politician with a microphone.

What It Does

This kit lets you tune the major spring and connector forces that affect slide speed, recoil feel, trigger weight, ignition force, trigger break, and reset. The flat-wire recoil springs control slide speed when paired with a compatible flat-wire guide rod system. The striker springs adjust trigger feel and primer ignition force. The trigger return spring affects reset authority. The reduced-power safety plunger spring smooths the trigger press. The Ghost connector choice lets you pick the trigger character you want.

Why It’s Worth It

The standard Alpha Pack already gives you control over recoil, striker force, reset, and plunger feel. This connector version goes one layer deeper by adding the part that changes how the trigger break actually feels. The Angel 3.0 is the lighter, smoother-feeling connector option. The Avenger 3.5 is the cleaner, polished 3.5 lb style option for a smoother feel than stock.

Install Notes

Tune one system at a time. Start with the recoil spring and compatible guide rod system, test function, then move into striker spring, trigger return spring, plunger spring, and connector tuning. Do not throw every light part in at once and then act surprised when the pistol develops a personality disorder.

Striker spring guidance: the 4.5 lb spring is usually the best balance of lighter feel and practical reliability. The 6 lb spring favors stronger ignition. The 4 lb spring should be treated as a range/competition tuning spring and tested hard before trusting it.

Verify Before You Buy

  • Verify that your pistol is a Glock 17 Gen 5 or Glock 34 Gen 5 before ordering.
  • Full-size Glock recoil systems are not the same as compact, subcompact, or slimline Glock recoil systems.
  • Verify that your guide rod is designed for flat-wire recoil springs.
  • These recoil springs may fit compatible captured or non-captured / uncaptured guide rods, but the guide rod shaft, spring seat, end cap, and retaining cap must match this flat-wire spring profile.
  • Flat-wire and round-wire recoil springs are not automatically interchangeable.
  • Verify which connector option you want before checkout.
  • After installation, function test the firearm unloaded, then live-fire test with your actual ammo before carrying, competing, or relying on the setup.
