AR-15 – Superfinished Bolt Carrier Group – M16 Profile 5.56 NATO – Nitride
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.
Faxon Firearms built this Superfinished 5.56 M16 bolt carrier group as a full-auto-profile BCG for AR-15 pattern rifles that want reliable cycling without nonsense. It uses a 9310 tool steel bolt, salt bath nitride treatment, MPI inspection, and Faxon’s superfinished carrier body to reduce friction and smooth out operation.
This is the standard-weight M16 profile version, not the Gunner lightweight model. Good. That means it can serve the broadest crowd without needing a lecture on tuning every time it ships.
Fitment
- Fits AR-15 rifles using standard M16-profile carrier geometry
- Caliber: 5.56 NATO
- Also commonly used in .223 Remington compatible AR-15 systems
- Full-auto compatible carrier profile
Does NOT fit
- Not the lightweight Gunner BCG
- Do not assume compatibility with proprietary carrier systems
What it does
This is the main operating group for the rifle. Faxon refined the normal mil-spec recipe with better finishing, inspection, and surface treatment to keep cycling smooth and wear under control.
Why it’s worth it
Standard-weight BCGs still make the most sense for a lot of rifles because they are simpler, broader in compatibility, and do not force the buyer into lightweight tuning games. This one gives that buyer a better-finished option without going full jewelry case.

Install notes
Verify headspace and overall function when mixing parts from different manufacturers. Standard AR builder common sense still applies, even when the finish looks fancy.
Verify before you buy
Verify you want the standard M16-profile nitride BCG and not the lightweight Gunner version. Verify to prevent returns: these are not the same job.
