Real Avid — Gunsmithing Punch Set (37-Piece) (Accu-Punch)

This is the full “do it right” punch kit for firearm work—standard pins, roll pins, and the specialty stuff that usually makes people swear (like AR-15 bolt catch pins). You get nickel-plated steel punches for durability, brass punches for non-marring work, and small helper tools that make pin work less painful and way more controlled.

Fitment

  • Designed for firearms maintenance and assembly (solid pins + roll pins + specialty pin work).
  • Nickel-plated steel flat-tip punches (standard pins): 1/16", 5/64", 3/32", 1/8", 9/64", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4", 9/32"
  • Nickel-plated steel roll pin punches (hollow/roll pins): 1/16", 5/64", 3/32", 1/8", 9/64", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4", 9/32"
  • Brass flat-tip punches (non-marring): 1/8", 9/64", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4", 9/32"
  • AR-15 bolt catch helpers: includes bolt catch roll pin starter + roll pin punch (listed as 3/32" bolt catch roll pin starter and roll pin punch), and flat-sided bolt-catch punches intended to reduce marring around the bolt catch area.
  • Pin Alignment Tool: helps align and start tiny pins without sacrificing your fingertips
  • Full set callout (per listing): 13 nickel-plated flat tip punches, 13 nickel-plated roll pin punches, 7 brass punches, 2 flat sided bolt catch punches, 1 nylon punch, 1 taper punch, and plastic tweezers.

Does NOT fit

  • This won’t replace heavy build tools (vise blocks, torque wrench, barrel tools, etc.). It’s for pin work and detail work.
  • If your firearm uses an oddball pin size outside these ranges, you’ll need the correct punch size for that job (forcing the wrong size is how pins get mushroomed).

Tools needed

  • Gunsmithing hammer (nylon/brass faces recommended)
  • Bench block (strongly recommended for clean pin driving)
  • Painter’s tape (optional finish protection around tight areas)

Install notes

  • Match the punch to the pin type: use flat-tip punches for solid pins; use roll-pin punches for roll pins. Wrong punch = slipped punch + scarred finish.
  • Support is everything: stabilize the part on a bench block before striking. Most “I scratched my lower” stories are really “I didn’t support it.”
  • AR-15 bolt catch pin tip: use the flat-sided/bolt-catch tools to keep clearance against the receiver and reduce the chance of dragging a punch across the lower.
  • Start pins clean: use the pin alignment tool when you’re dealing with tiny, annoying pins that love to tilt and bind.

⚠ Install & Compatibility Disclaimer: Always confirm the firearm is unloaded before any work. Use correct punch type/size, proper support, and controlled strikes to prevent damage. After reassembly, perform a full function/safety check. If you’re not confident, use a qualified armorer/gunsmith.

⚠ Trademark & Compatibility Disclaimer: Brand and model names are used only to describe compatibility. Pin sizes and pin types vary by firearm—verify your pin type (solid vs roll) and size before starting to avoid damage and returns.
