AR-15 Extended Magazine Release – Gen 2 / Gen 3 – Black
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.
The Odin Works XMR series gives AR builders an extended magazine release with more surface area and easier access than a standard mil-spec button. This card covers the verified black Gen 2 and Gen 3 versions for AR-15 use, with the Gen 3 carrying the larger profile of the two.
Available options are organized below under Variants.
Fitment
- Fits AR-15
- Gen 2 also works with AR10 lower receivers
- Gen 3 works with AR15 and some AR10 lower receivers
- Gen 2 is designed to work with Magpul BAD levers
- Gen 2 and Gen 3 are compatible with KNS pins
Does NOT fit
- Do not assume universal compatibility across every large-frame lower
- Aero M5 lowers need the AR10 add-on button for Gen 3
What it does
This increases magazine release surface area so the shooter can hit the control faster and more confidently without changing grip as much. It is a small ergonomics upgrade that helps the rifle feel quicker and less fiddly.
Why it’s worth it
These are cheap, useful lower-control upgrades that make real-world handling easier. Gen 2 makes sense if BAD lever compatibility matters. Gen 3 makes sense if you want the biggest profile Odin offers in this line.
