Samson’s Compact Magwell for the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield is a one-piece, no-gunsmithing upgrade built to improve reload speed, grip consistency, and magazine insertion. It is designed around the original Shield family and gives the gun a more controlled, more complete feel without permanent modification.

- Works with factory 8-round 9mm magazines with standard baseplate
- Works with Samson 9mm +1 magazine extension
- Works with factory 7-round .40 S&W magazines
Does NOT fit
- Does not work with factory 7-round 9mm magazines
- Does not work with factory 6-round .40 S&W magazines
- Does not work with many grip-extension style aftermarket base pads that interfere with the magwell profile
What it does
This magwell gives the Shield a beveled funnel for cleaner reloads and helps establish a fuller firing grip. It also helps empty magazines drop free without your hand crowding the magazine body during reloads.
Why it’s worth it
The Shield is slim and easy to carry, but that also means reloads and grip purchase can feel cramped. Samson solved that problem without turning the gun into a science project.
