Real Avid Gun Boss Pro Universal Gun Cleaning Kit (.22–.45 + 12/20ga)

This is the “one kit that actually earns its spot” for the gun owner with multiple calibers. Instead of a floppy pouch and bargain-bin parts, you get a stand-up, labeled tool case that keeps everything locked in place, plus a multi-function handle and the caliber-specific brushes/jags that cover most handgun/rifle bores and two common shotgun gauges.

What it’s for:

  • Cleaning the bore on your most common rifles and handguns (.22 through .45 caliber range)
  • Cleaning 12ga and 20ga bores with dedicated brush + mop pieces
  • Keeping an organized “grab-and-go” kit for home bench use or travel/range days
  • Preventing the usual issues caused by neglect: carbon buildup, gritty cycling, and accuracy drift from a dirty bore

What’s included (full kit list):

  • Kickstand tool case with labeled compartments (opens and stands up so you can work without dumping parts everywhere)
  • Multi-function handle with rotating + fixed receivers and a tap-hammer surface
  • Three brass rod sections that combine with the handle to form a 32" cleaning rod
  • Shotgun components:
    • 12ga brush + 12ga mop
    • 20ga brush + 20ga mop
  • Rifle/handgun caliber components (brush + jag sets):
    • .45 cal brush + .45 cal jag
    • .40 cal brush + .40 cal jag
    • .357 / .38 / 9mm brush + .357 / .38 / 9mm jag
    • .30 cal brush + .30 cal jag
    • .280 / .270 / 7mm brush + .280 / .270 / 7mm jag
    • .243 cal brush + .243 cal jag
    • .22 cal brush + .22 cal jag
  • Patch tools:
    • Large slotted tip
    • Small slotted tip
  • Cleaning patches:
    • 25 patches (1.2" x 2.4")
    • 25 patches (2" x 2.4")
  • Mounting capability: screw holes for permanent mounting (bench/pegboard setups)

Fitment

  • Fits: .22, .243, .270, .280, 7mm, .30, 9mm, .357/.38, .40, .45 and 12ga/20ga
  • Practical note: this kit works because you choose the correct brush/jag for the bore you’re cleaning—don’t “close enough” it.

Does NOT fit

  • Not built for uncommon/specialty bores outside the listed calibers and gauges (example: .17, .410, 16ga, 28ga, etc.)
  • Not a chamber-specific “platform kit” (it’s universal bore-focused cleaning, not a dedicated AR/AK star-chamber toolset)

Tools needed

  • Solvent (for carbon and fouling)
  • Light oil (for corrosion protection after cleaning)
  • Rag/paper towels (wipe-down and cleanup)

Install notes

  • Clear the firearm first—mag out, chamber checked. Every time.
  • Pick the right pieces: match brush + jag to your exact bore. Wrong size = stuck brush/patch and new curse words.
  • Use the rotating receiver when you want the rod/brush to follow rifling naturally; use the fixed receiver when you want more controlled, targeted work.
  • Patch technique: start with a lightly-solvent patch, brush if needed, then run dry patches until they come out mostly clean.
  • Shotgun note: use the brush to scrub, then the mop to apply protectant and finish the bore.
  • Don’t Hulk it: if it binds, back out and re-center. Forcing rods and patches is how people damage stuff.
  • Bench setup: if you clean often, mount the case using the screw holes so it stays put and stays organized.
