Real Avid — Multi-Caliber Handgun Cleaning Kit (.22–.45) (Gun Boss)

This Gun Boss kit is a compact, field-ready cleaning setup for the most common handgun calibers. Everything is organized in a weather-resistant, zippered travel case with a ballistic nylon shell—so you’re not digging through loose parts at the range like a raccoon in a trash can. It’s built to keep your pistol running: proper bore cleaning plus the basics to wipe down carbon and crud before it turns into malfunctions.

Fitment

  • Designed for handgun calibers: .22, .357 / .38 / 9mm, .40, .45.
  • Rod system: 2-section rod with swivel tip that combines into a 9" rod, plus a T-handle.
  • Brushes + jags included: .22, .357/.38/9mm, .40, .45 (each with matching jag).
  • Slotted tips: 2 included.
  • Patches: includes 25 of 3" x 3" and 25 of 1.5" x 3".
  • Case: compact, weather-resistant zippered case with ballistic nylon shell.

Does NOT fit

  • Not intended for rifle calibers or shotguns.
  • Not intended for handgun calibers outside the included sizes (example: 10mm, .44, .380)—use the correct caliber tools to avoid poor cleaning or bore damage.

Tools needed

  • Bore solvent/cleaner (your preference)
  • Lubricant/protectant oil
  • Rags or shop towels

Install notes

  • Quick clean that actually helps: bore brush + solvent, then patches until they come out mostly clean. Finish with a very light oil film if it’s going into storage.
  • Use the swivel tip right: keep the rod aligned with the bore—don’t drag the rod against the crown like you’re trying to sand it.
  • Reliability areas: wipe carbon off the feed ramp area, breech face, and rails. A little grime here becomes a lot of problems later.
  • Don’t over-lube: a thin film on wear points beats a wet gun that collects carbon and lint.

⚠ Install & Compatibility Disclaimer: Always confirm the firearm is unloaded before cleaning. Use caliber-correct brushes/jags only and avoid forcing tools through the bore. If you’re unsure about disassembly or function checks, use a qualified armorer/gunsmith.
