AR-10 / .308 – Muzzle Brake – FATman Hex Brake – 7.62 / .308 / 300 BLK – 5/8x24

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.

The Phase 5 Weapon Systems FATman Hex Brake in the .30 cal pattern is built for rifles using 5/8x24 threads and supports common chamberings like .308 Winchester, 7.62 NATO, and .300 Blackout. This is the larger-thread version, not the 5.56 model. It uses a steel body, large ventilated chambers, and top porting to help flatten the rifle and cut recoil impulse.

Fitment

  • Fits barrels threaded 5/8x24
  • Verified caliber family support: .308 Winchester, 7.62 NATO, .300 Blackout

Does NOT fit

  • Does not fit 1/2x28 .223 / 5.56 barrels
  • Do not buy this just because the threads “look close enough.” That is how people earn expensive lessons.

What it does

This brake redirects gas to reduce felt recoil and muzzle climb on harder-hitting rifles. It is meant to keep the gun flatter and more predictable, especially when you are shooting for speed or trying to stay on target through the shot.

Why it’s worth it

On heavier calibers, a real brake earns its paycheck. This one is for the shooter who wants recoil control and does not mind the added blast that comes with getting the job done.

Install notes

Verify thread pitch and caliber before install, time the brake correctly, and check bore alignment. If this sentence sounds boring, good. Boring is how you keep muzzle devices from becoming chaos.
