AR-15 – Muzzle Brake – FATman Hex Brake – 5.56 / .223 – 1/2x28
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.
The Phase 5 Weapon Systems FATman Hex Brake in 5.56 / .223 is a steel muzzle brake built for rifles using 1/2x28 threads. It uses two large ventilated baffle sections and forward-angled top ports to cut recoil impulse and help keep the muzzle flatter through repeat shots. This is the 5.56 / .223 version, not the larger .30 cal thread pattern model.
Fitment
- Fits .223 Remington / 5.56 NATO barrels threaded 1/2x28
- Best fit use case: AR-15 and similar .223 / 5.56 rifles with correct thread pitch
Does NOT fit
- Does not fit 5/8x24 threaded .30 caliber barrels
- Do not buy this for .308 / 7.62 rifles unless your barrel thread and caliber specifically support it
What it does
This brake redirects gas to reduce felt recoil and help control muzzle rise. In plain English: it helps the rifle stay flatter and more manageable when you are trying to run fast strings or keep the sight picture from bouncing like a jackrabbit on espresso.
Why it’s worth it
If you want a big-boy brake that actually looks like it means business, this one does. It is not the lightest or the smallest, but it is built for shooters who care more about recoil control than pretending blast does not exist.
