Glock 17/19/19X/22/23/24/26/27/31/32/33/34/35 Gen 4–5 – Extended Magazine Catch – Aluminum
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.
This Cross Armory Extended Magazine Catch is built for compatible Glock Gen 4 and Gen 5 pistols that use the reversible magazine-catch system. It gives the thumb a larger, more natural contact surface for quicker magazine changes while keeping the profile controlled enough to avoid unnecessary holster interference.
Cross Armory machines this catch from 7075-T6 billet aircraft aluminum instead of molded plastic, then finishes it with anodized or metal-coated options for corrosion resistance and style. It is made for shooters who want better thumb feel and faster reload control without installing a giant snag button on the side of the frame.

Does NOT Fit
Do Not Guess Frame Fitment
- Does NOT fit Glock Gen 1–3 frames.
- Do not assume compatibility with slimline Glock models unless specifically verified.
- Do not assume fitment with aftermarket frames unless they use compatible Glock Gen 4/5 magazine-catch geometry.
- Do not install if the magazine catch does not seat, retain, or release magazines correctly during function testing.
Magazine Catch Fit Guide
| Setup | Fit Status | Main Check |
|---|---|---|
| Glock Gen 4/5 standard-frame models listed above | Compatible | Verify model and generation before ordering |
| Right-side or left-side shooter setup | Supported by reversible install | Confirm correct orientation and magazine release function |
| Aftermarket Glock-style frames | Frame-dependent | Must use compatible Gen 4/5 magazine-catch geometry |
Note: Magazine catch function must be tested after installation. Magazine retention, release pressure, spring engagement, frame geometry, magazine body condition, and holster clearance can all affect real-world use.
What It Does
This extended magazine catch gives your thumb a better surface to hit when dropping the magazine. The shape is ramped from the thumb side of the frame, helping the thumb move naturally onto the catch surface instead of hunting for a tiny factory-style button.
The goal is cleaner reload control without turning the pistol into a snag trap. More contact area is good. Accidentally dumping mags because the part sticks out like a doorbell? Not so much.
Why It’s Worth It
A magazine catch is a small part, but it can make reloads smoother when your grip, gloves, hand size, or shooting pace makes the factory catch feel too flat. This one gives more contact area while keeping the profile practical for real handgun use.
The 7075-T6 aluminum construction gives the part a stronger, sharper feel than factory-style molded plastic, while the finish options let the build stay clean or add a little custom flavor. Useful first. Pretty second. That is the correct order unless you enjoy expensive decorations.

Verify Before You Buy
Verify Before You Buy
- Verify your pistol is a compatible Glock Gen 4 or Gen 5 model before ordering.
- Verify your frame uses Glock Gen 4/5 magazine-catch geometry.
- Verify your pistol is not a Gen 1–3 frame.
- Verify aftermarket or heavily modified frames accept compatible Gen 4/5 magazine-catch parts.
- After installation, verify magazine retention and release before live fire. A mag release that looks cool but drops mags wrong is just a fancy problem.
