This kit is for people who actually shoot their handguns—and don’t want them running like a gritty stapler after a few range trips. You get two cleaning modes in one setup: a caliber-specific Bore Boss pull-through for fast “right now” cleaning, and a full rod/brush kit for when you’re doing a proper deep clean at home. It’s organized, compact, and built around what handgun fouling really looks like: carbon, powder residue, and the lovely paste that shows up when oil meets dirt.
What it’s for:
- Routine bore cleaning for .357 / .38 / 9mm handguns
- Quick range-bag maintenance after shooting
- Deep cleaning at home to scrub fouling and keep performance consistent
- Detail cleaning tight spots where grime hides (feed area, slide rails, breech face zone—aka “malfunction country”)
What’s included:
- Expanded cleaning kit to clean bore, action, and chamber
- Bore Boss (caliber-specific) for quick pull-through cleaning
- Ergonomic T-handle for control and leverage
- Cleaning rod (this handgun set uses a 1-piece rod)
- Bore patch jag and slotted tip
- Phosphor bronze bore brush (caliber-specific)
- Nylon bore brush (caliber-specific)
- Bore mop (caliber-specific)
- 25 bore patches
- Accu-Grip detailing pick
- Smart Brushes: narrow brush + diamond-shape brush
- Molded carry case that opens flat and holds parts in place
Fitment
- Fits: .357, .38, and 9mm handguns (caliber-specific components included for this kit)
Tools needed
- Cleaning solvent (for carbon and fouling)
- Light oil (for lubrication and corrosion protection)
- Rag/paper towels (wipe-down and cleanup)
Install notes
- Unload and verify clear before cleaning—mag out, chamber checked, no shortcuts.
- Quick clean: use the Bore Boss after shooting to knock out fresh fouling before it hardens.
- Deep clean: use the rod + bronze brush when fouling is stubborn; use nylon for lighter scrubbing and solvent work.
- Patches: solvent patch first, then dry patches until they come out mostly clean—don’t leave the bore soaked.
- Detail tools: use the pick/brushes with control—scrape carbon, don’t gouge metal.
- Finish smart: wipe excess solvent and apply a light protective oil where appropriate—avoid over-oiling.
