Picatinny Rail – Angled Fore Grip – AFG1 – Black / FDE
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.
The Magpul AFG1 is the original full-size angled fore grip for rifles with standard Picatinny rail sections. It is built to give the support hand a more natural forward grip angle, keep the hand high on the bore line, and improve control without going to a traditional vertical grip. This parent card combines the verified colors from your batch: Black and Flat Dark Earth.
Available options are organized below under Variants.
This is the bigger original AFG, not the slimmer AFG2 and not the M-LOK version. If you need direct M-LOK attachment, this ain’t your huckleberry.
Fitment
- Fits standard MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails
- Fits NATO STANAG 4694 rails
- Works across rifle platforms with the correct railed handguard or rail section
Does NOT fit
- Does not fit M-LOK handguards without the proper rail section installed
- Does not fit KeyMod-only setups without a compatible Picatinny adapter
What it does
The AFG1 gives the support hand an angled, forward indexing point that can help with control, recoil management, and faster follow-up shots. It is meant to improve how the rifle handles in the hands, not just add another chunk of plastic for decoration.
Why it’s worth it
If the shooter prefers a larger angled grip body and has enough rail space to support it, the original AFG still makes a lot of sense. It gives a stable support-hand reference, includes finger shelf inserts, and works well on rifles where a bigger control surface is not a problem.

Install notes
Mount it fully on a proper rail section, verify it clears lights and switches, and confirm the final placement actually matches the shooter’s support-hand position. Big lesson here: if the hand placement feels wrong, moving it one slot can matter more than arguing on the internet.
Verify before you buy
Verify your setup uses a standard Picatinny / STANAG 4694 rail. Verify you want the original larger AFG1 and not the more compact AFG2 or the direct-mount M-LOK AFG.
