Glock Gen 1–5 Firing Pin/Striker Spring 3-Pack – 4lb/4.5lb/6lb
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.
This isn’t a grab-bag. It’s a tuning kit. The IronKells Firing Pin / Striker Spring 3-Pack gives you three striker spring weights — 4.0 lb, 4.5 lb, and 6.0 lb — so you can test striker tension, trigger feel, and ignition reliability in your Glock setup.
Lighter striker springs can help reduce trigger pull weight, but they can also weaken primer ignition. Heavier springs hit harder but can add weight back into the trigger break. That tradeoff is not theory. It shows up at the range like an unpaid bill.
Striker Force Reality Check
The firing pin spring controls how hard your striker hits the primer. Lighter springs can clean up trigger feel, but hard primers and weak ignition do not care about your feelings.

Included Spring Weight Guide
| 4.0 | Best treated as a light target / competition-style tuning spring. It can help reduce pull weight, but ignition is weakest here. Not recommended for carry or duty use without serious live-fire proof. |
| 4.5 | A balanced middle-lane option for range, hybrid, and tuned trigger setups. Still needs testing with your actual ammo, especially if you run hard primers or budget loads. |
| 6.0 | Stronger ignition option for shooters who care more about primer strike authority than chasing the lightest possible pull. Better suited for reliability-minded setups. |
Note: These are setup guidelines, not guaranteed trigger pull numbers. Actual pull weight depends on the full parts combination, tolerances, connector geometry, trigger shoe, plunger spring, striker condition, lubrication, and break-in.
What It Does
The firing pin spring, also called the striker spring, controls how hard your striker hits the primer.
- Lighter spring = lighter trigger feel, but weaker ignition.
- Heavier spring = stronger ignition, but a firmer trigger break.
- That balance matters most with cheap ammo, steel-case ammo, hard primers, carry ammo, and modified trigger setups.
Setup Notes
| Lightest Feel / Range Use | The 4.0 lb spring belongs in range and competition-minded setups where the goal is a lighter pull and the shooter is willing to test ignition hard. |
| Balanced Tuning | The 4.5 lb spring is the middle ground. It can help tune trigger feel without going as light as the 4.0 lb spring, but it still needs ammo testing. |
| Stronger Ignition | The 6.0 lb spring is the safer direction when ignition reliability matters more than shaving every ounce off the trigger pull. |
Always test your full setup with your actual ammo. A great trigger means nothing if the primer does not ignite when it counts.
Why It’s Worth It
This 3-pack gives you the practical spread most Glock tuners actually need: 4.0 lb for light competition-style tuning, 4.5 lb for the balanced middle lane, and 6.0 lb for stronger ignition. Swap, test, compare, and stop guessing.
Forge Files Note
Striker springs are exactly the kind of part that belongs in the Forge Files. Pairing them with connectors, trigger shoes, and plunger springs changes the final result, so test the full setup instead of trusting internet campfire stories.
