AR-15 – Heavy Carbine Buffer – ST-T1 – 3 oz

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.

Spike’s Tactical built the ST-T1 as a carbine buffer upgrade for AR-15 builders who want a simple drop-in option without jumping straight to the heavier T2 or T3 setups. It uses a solid aluminum body, black anodized finish, tungsten fill, and a mil-spec bumper in a maintenance-free package.

This is the lighter end of Spike’s heavy-buffer family. Good for buyers wanting a modest step away from a standard carbine buffer without going full brick-in-the-buffer-tube.

Fitment

  • Fits AR-15 platforms using carbine-length receiver extensions
  • Compatible with mil-spec and commercial carbine receiver extensions
  • Direct drop-in replacement for standard carbine buffers

Does NOT fit

  • Not for rifle-length receiver extension systems
  • Not the right choice for buyers specifically wanting a heavier T2 or T3 buffer setup
  • Not for oddball proprietary recoil systems unless separately verified

What it does

The ST-T1 adds buffer mass to help smooth out carbine cycling while staying on the lighter side of Spike’s tungsten lineup. It is meant to drop into a carbine setup and give a more controlled feel than a plain standard buffer.

Why it’s worth it

This is the easy “start here” option for a customer who wants a nicer buffer but does not need to go full heavy. It is simple, proven, maintenance-free, and not loaded with gimmick nonsense.

Install notes

This is a direct drop-in carbine buffer replacement, but buffer choice still needs to match the rifle. If the build is already gassy, suppressed, or picky, do not just throw darts at buffer weights and call it tuning.

Verify before you buy

Verify that your rifle uses a carbine-length receiver extension and verify that you want the ST-T1 3 oz model, not the heavier ST-T2 or ST-T3 version.
