The KynSHOT RB5000 and RB5000HP are hydraulic recoil buffers built for AR-15 carbine buffer systems. These are not basic dead-weight buffers. They use hydraulic damping to help control recoil impulse, soften cycling feel, and improve system behavior when matched correctly to the rifle.
Available options are organized below under Variants. Choose RB5000 for standard AR-15 carbine setups, or RB5000HP for harder-cycling, overgassed, suppressed, or compatible 9mm radial delayed blowback systems.
Fitment
- RB5000: Fits AR-15 carbines with a collapsible stock and mil-spec carbine buffer tube.
- RB5000: Designed for standard AR-15 carbine recoil systems.
- RB5000HP: Designed for hard-cycling AR-15 carbines and CMMG Radial Delayed Blowback systems.
- RB5000HP: Better fit for overgassed, suppressed, piston, heavy-caliber, or harder-running AR-pattern setups when appropriate.
Does NOT fit
- Does not fit rifle-length buffer systems unless separately verified.
- Does not replace proper gas tuning.
- Do not choose HP just because it sounds cooler. Match buffer choice to the gun’s actual cycling behavior.
What it does
This buffer replaces the standard AR carbine buffer and uses hydraulic damping to smooth out the recoil cycle. The goal is better recoil control, reduced bolt bounce, smoother cycling feel, and better behavior in properly matched systems.
Why it’s worth it
This is a serious tuning part for shooters who care how the rifle actually runs. The RB5000 is the practical standard carbine choice. The RB5000HP is the heavier hammer for guns that cycle hard, run suppressed, or need more control than a normal carbine buffer provides.

Install notes
Install into a compatible carbine buffer tube with the correct spring and recoil system. After installation, test with your actual ammunition, magazine, gas setup, and suppressor configuration if applicable. Buffer tuning is simple until it isn’t—then it becomes expensive troubleshooting with feelings.
Verify before you buy
Verify your buffer tube type, recoil spring, gas system, caliber, suppressor use, and cycling behavior before purchase. If your rifle is overgassed or running a CMMG radial delayed blowback 9mm setup, RB5000HP may be the better match. For standard AR-15 carbine setups, RB5000 is usually the cleaner starting point.
