AR-15 – Heavy Carbine Buffer – ST-T2 – 4 oz

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.

Spike’s Tactical built the ST-T2 for AR-15 shooters wanting a heavier carbine buffer that smooths recoil impulse and calms down a lively gun without getting ridiculous. It uses a solid aluminum billet body, black anodized finish, mil-spec bumper, and tungsten powder fill in a maintenance-free design.

This is the sweet-spot model in the family for a lot of carbine builds. Not too light, not full T3 hammer mode.

Fitment

  • Fits AR-15 platforms using carbine-length receiver extensions
  • Compatible with mil-spec and commercial carbine receiver extensions
  • Direct drop-in replacement for standard carbine buffers

Does NOT fit

  • Not for rifle-length receiver extension systems
  • Not the right buy for someone specifically wanting the lighter ST-T1 or heavier ST-T3
  • Not for proprietary recoil systems unless separately verified

What it does

The ST-T2 adds more mass than the T1 to help slow carrier movement, soften felt recoil, and smooth out cycling in AR-15 carbines. It is widely treated as the middle-ground heavy buffer in the Spike’s lineup.

Why it’s worth it

For a lot of builders, this is the one that makes the most sense. It is heavier than a basic setup, smoother than cheap generic buffers, and still simple enough to be a clean drop-in upgrade.

Install notes

This is still a tuning part, not magic. It can help a carbine behave better, especially when the gun is a little hot, but buffer choice should still match the rifle’s gas, ammo, and overall setup.

Verify before you buy

Verify that your rifle uses a carbine-length receiver extension and verify that you want the ST-T2 4 oz model, not the lighter T1 or heavier T3 version.
