Glock Gen 1–5 Firing Pin Springs

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DETAILS AND FITMENT BEFORE PURCHASE.

IronKells Glock Firing Pin Springs are built for Gen 1–5 Glock trigger tuning, giving shooters control over trigger pull feel, striker tension, and primer ignition strength. Whether you are building a paper-punching track star or a duty-grade hammer, spring weight matters.

Lighter springs can reduce pull weight but may weaken primer ignition. Heavier springs hit harder but can make the trigger break feel firmer. Pick the spring weight that matches the job, test the setup, and let the pistol tell the truth.

Striker Force Reality Check

The firing pin spring controls how hard the striker hits the primer. Lighter can feel better. Heavier can hit harder. Reliability gets the final vote, because primers do not care about your trigger-weight dreams.

Setup Guide / Spring Weight Breakdown

4.0 lb — Target / Competition Only Lightest pull impact and weakest ignition. Not recommended for carry or duty use unless the full setup has been tested hard and you accept the risk.
4.5 lb — Range / Hybrid Setup A good balance if you are pushing lighter trigger feel but still want more practical ignition reliability than the 4.0 lb option.
5.0 lb — Everyday Use / Mild Upgrades Factory-style middle ground. Boring, useful, and usually the least dramatic option. Sometimes boring is the adult in the room.
6.0 lb — Hard-Primer Ready Stronger ignition option for harder primers, budget ammo, or reliability-minded setups where primer strike authority matters more than chasing the lightest trigger feel.
6.5 lb — Maximum Reliability Focus Firmest feel and strongest ignition direction. Best for shooters who value primer strike authority over a featherweight trigger pull.

Note: These are setup guidelines, not guaranteed trigger pull numbers. Actual pull weight depends on the full parts combination, tolerances, connector geometry, trigger shoe, plunger spring, striker condition, lubrication, ammunition, and break-in.

What It Does

The firing pin spring, also called the striker spring, controls how hard your striker hits the primer.

  • Lighter spring = lighter trigger pull, but weaker ignition.
  • Heavier spring = stronger ignition, but a firmer trigger break.
  • That is why spring choice affects both trigger weight and reliability, especially with cheap ammo, steel-case ammo, or hard primers.

IronKells Real-World Testing Notes

2–3 lb Pull Setup / Too Light for Carry Typically uses a 4.0 lb striker spring with a 6.0 lb trigger spring and light connector setup. This belongs in the range / competition lane, not blind carry use.
Balanced Setup / EDC Testing Lane A 4.5 lb or 5.0 lb striker spring is a better middle ground when you want smoother feel but still care about practical ignition reliability.
Duty / Carry Reliability Direction A 6.0 lb or 6.5 lb striker spring favors ignition authority. Pair with a sensible connector and test with the exact ammo you plan to use.

Always test your full setup with your carry ammo. A great trigger means nothing if your primer does not ignite when it counts.

Why It’s Worth It

These springs give you control over the soul of the trigger: lighter pull, stronger ignition, or a balanced setup between the two. This is not about chasing the lightest pull just because it sounds cool. It is about choosing the right spring for the job and testing the gun like your knuckles have touched real tools before.
